February’s Game

Thanks to everybody who attended the game last Saturday. Doug and Dan L. were the big winners. Both will be getting some Hall of Fame points for their performances and Dan will no longer be allowed to sit on my left.

The big story of the night may have been the CFO from Somerset Casino, Johnny Bigshot, showing up because he was close by (ie Cranston). I am happy to report that nobody was intimidated, and he wouldn’t have even broke even for the night if some moron with top pair (7s) didn’t call his all in on the river with flush, straight, and full house possibilities on the board.

Thanks also goes out to Trevor who left a Tröegs Nugget Nectar in the fridge. I took that bad boy out while shoveling, using the snow bank as a beer cozy. The very last swallow of it was the first where any of it was frozen. Perfect timing.

Things shaping up for Saturday

I think there’s like six people so far. Mike, Trevor, Me, Dan L and Josh, and Mundo, who might be convincing Eric to come. So make that 6.5. There’s NO parking currently, but something is going to open up between now and Saturday. I’ll see to it, even if I have to pay some neighborhood kid $20 in poker chips to dig us out a spot or two. Will keep you posted on that front.

The Sherwood Street Casino Hall of Fame

The Sherwood Street Casino is going to be instituting a Hall of Fame, and you can get in. It’s going to be based on points. Something along the lines of…

2 points for showing up
-12 points for saying you are showing up but then not showing up
8 points for cashing out over $80
16 points for cashing out over $200
-10 points for felting Prior
10 points for felting Doug
11 points for winning one of my rinky-dink tourneys
-5 points for getting drunk and making a fool of yourself
12 points for doing so in an entertaining fashion
-11 points for going to Somerset to play .25/.25 and never coming back to Sherwood
5 points for going to Somerset and coming back to Sherwood and saying “wow, that game is nowhere near as fun as this one!”

And, then I don’t know, once you get to like 50 or 60 points we’ll just put you in the hall of fame. You’ll have to let us take a picture of you of course. If you don’t, well then we’ll draw one.
